Microsoft became the first major cloud provider to adopt the international standard for cloud privacy, also known as ISO/IEC 27018. This new regulation was published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in an effort to guard the customer data stored in our clouds.
Microsoft’s commitment to its customers is:
“The standard requires that law enforcement requests for disclosure of personally identifiable data must be disclosed to you as an enterprise customer, unless this disclosure is prohibited by law,” Microsoft said, “We’ve already adhered to this approach (and more), and adoption of the standard reinforces this commitment.”
Office 365, Dynamics CRM Online and Azure are in good standings according to the standard’s code for protection of personal information according to the British Standards Institute. To learn more about this issue, visit the official Microsoft site by clicking here.
