On May 6th, Microsoft will begin enforcing 8 character passwords in BPOS. This means you will have to update your local Domain Password Policy to also require a minimum password length of 8 characters in order for MessageOps Password Sync to continue working. For full details, see:
Unicode characters are also no longer supported in passwords. At this time, we aren’t exactly sure what the impact of that will be. The MessageOps password sync can sync Unicode characters in passwords, but whether that is common, we don’t know (in the US it isn’t). It doesn’t appear there is a way to create a Password Policy in the local Active Directory to prevent passwords with Unicode characters, so this could prove to be a problem if people are using passwords with Unicode characters.
