Licenses are month-to-month. There is no annual commitment.
Billed monthly on the 1st of the following month. Licenses added during the month are pro-rated based on the days remaining in that month. Cancelled licenses are charged for the remaining of the billable month and do not receive a pro-rated reduction.

Yes. If you choose to use your own Azure blob storage account, it has to be in either East US or West Europe. This is due to data transfer costs. The decision to use your own storage account has to be made during account creation and cannot be changed later without re-creating the account entirely. Be sure to encrypt your storage account.
The connection string to your Azure Blog storage account is stored in Azure Key Vault.
If you are required to comply with national, regional or industry-specific requirements governing the collection and use of individual’s data, you need to use an Azure storage account that belongs to your organization. This setting cannot be changed after account setup.
Yes. Each time an Exchange Online mailbox backup data is created, accessed, or deleted, either by the user or one of the organization’s administrators, the date/time, username, mailbox, and action type are recorded and added to the Audit Log. The Audit Log is available to the administrators of the account.
Your Office 365 administrators manage access to your backup account using your organization’s Azure Active Directory. The Backup.io is an Azure AD SSO solution.
