Office 365 users continue to be satisfied with their move to the cloud.

A recent survey from Gartner, Inc. shows that Office 365 adoption is high and growing. Roughly 78 percent of the survey’s respondents indicated that their companies were either using or planning to use Office 365 in the near future. This figure represents a 13 percent increase from the previous survey, published in 2014.

Satisfaction with Office 365 remains steady

According to Gartner, a majority of participants were satisfied with Office 365, and a mean satisfaction score of 5.3 was reported on a scale of one to seven, with seven representing the highest level of satisfaction.

“This year’s satisfaction result was just slightly lower than the 5.5 score from Gartner’s 2014 study,” according to Larry Cannell, an analyst with Gartner’s Technical Professionals Group, as summarized in Redmond Magazine. In response to customer needs, Microsoft has announced enhancements to the platform, including better synchronization and mobile improvements.

Most important Office 365 tools ranked

The Gartner survey also polled participants to identify the most popular Office 365 applications used by businesses. The top three Office 365 tools as surveyed were:

  1. Exchange Online for email and calendar use
  2. OneDrive for Business for file storage and collaboration
  3. Office 365 ProPlus, which is the suite of Office apps offered with most Office 365 plans.
